World population exceeds 8 billion: growth continues

The world population continues to increase, but this growth manifests differently across regions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the United Nations (UN), on November 15, 2022, the world population reached 8 billion. By 2025, this figure is expected to be around 8.232 billion.
The main regions of population growth are Asia and Africa, where demographic rates are high. In particular, India ranks first in the world by population, approaching 1.5 billion people.
Although the birth rate has declined, the total population continues to grow. For 2025, India's birth rate is recorded at 1.9 children per woman.
The average life expectancy for men and women is 71 and 74 years respectively. China currently ranks second with a population of over 1.4 billion.
However, demographic growth in this country is slowing down, with even a declining trend observed. In April 2023, the UN also recognized that India's population surpassed China's.
The United States ranks third, with its population expected to reach 347.3 million by 2025. However, long-term forecasts suggest that Nigeria may surpass the US in population by 2050.
Nigeria's population growth and age structure are the main reasons behind this forecast. In Europe, population decline and aging are pressing issues.
For example, countries like Italy and Greece have high aging rates, which negatively affect the labor market and economy. In conclusion, the world population continues to grow, but the center of this growth is shifting towards Asia and Africa.
Countries with a high proportion of young people are expected to benefit more from future opportunities. These demographic changes are not just simple statistics but a global roadmap for the future.
