A street coated with gold is being constructed in Dubai

In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the world's first street covered with gold is planned to be constructed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This project is primarily aimed at attracting tourists and representatives of the jewelry sector, as well as developing the local jewelry industry. The initiative was proposed by the Ithra Dubai company, and the project details are expected to be announced gradually.
This news was reported by The Independent. According to the plan, the “gold street” will be located in the central part of the new jewelry quarter.
More than 1,000 shops will operate in this area, selling gold and jewelry items alongside perfumes and cosmetic products. Additionally, six new hotels are planned to be built in the quarter.
This area is located near Dubai's ancient Gold Souk. The project cost has not been disclosed yet.
Ahmad al-Hajja, Director General of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, commented on the project, noting that gold is an integral part of Dubai's culture and trade. According to him, the project combines respect for historical heritage with creativity and sustainable development.
Dubai is considered one of the world's major centers for gold trade. According to data, 20–25 percent of the global gold turnover passes through Dubai.
The emirate mainly imports gold in raw form, processes it, and then exports it. Also, the world's heaviest gold ring — “Taiba Najmat” — is kept in Dubai.
The weight of this ring is said to be over 64 kilograms. If the project is approved, Dubai will once again strengthen its title as the “gold capital.”
The street covered with gold is expected to become one of the most prominent attractions for tourists.
