Shortened operation against illegal immigrants in Minnesota
Official information has been provided about the reduction of the "Metro Search" operation conducted by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the state of Minnesota. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

Tom Homan, the White House coordinator for border control, stated that many illegal immigrants and criminals were apprehended during the operation. According to him, this process has made Minnesota a less favorable area for criminals.

Thousands of federal agents were involved in the operation, which was conducted on a much larger scale than usual raids. According to official data, more than 4,000 illegal immigrants, including murderers, violent offenders, and other dangerous individuals, were removed from the streets of Minnesota.

At the same time, Homan emphasized that no individuals were detained in hospitals, schools, or churches, but added that such places are not completely off-limits and may be exceptions in serious threat situations. The reduction of the operation was explained by two main reasons: first, the number of apprehended criminals and dangerous situations has decreased; second, the need for rapid response forces from federal teams has lessened.

Homan stressed that this process is a reduction, not a complete end. Additionally, some federal personnel are planned to be redirected to other states.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz criticized the consequences of the operation several times. He noted economic damage, negative impacts on schools and local communities, as well as a weakening of public trust in the federal government.

He especially warned that the operation could leave a negative mark on the mental health of children. In his opinion, such events leave deep impressions in children's memories.

There are various opinions about the long-term effects of this process. While some announce the operation has ended, others say that routine immigration checks continue.

Thus, the example of Minnesota may serve as a model for other states as well. The final results of the operation will only become clear over time.
