Trump's statement on Cuba escalated tensions

The sensational statement by US President Donald Trump regarding Cuba has sparked significant international discussions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Reuters agency, as Trump was departing the White House for Texas, he emphasized that the Cuban government is engaging in dialogue with the US and that the island nation is facing a severe economic crisis. He even mentioned the possibility of "friendly takeover of Cuba."
In his speech, Trump described Cuba as a country in crisis, noting that shortages of money, oil, and food have intensified. According to him, this situation has forced Havana to establish contact with the United States.
He also added that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is actively involved in this process. However, the Cuban government responded differently to these statements.
According to Reuters, Havana stated that no high-level negotiations are taking place with the US. Nevertheless, reports about some unofficial contacts were not denied.
In particular, information has circulated that Marco Rubio has had indirect communication with Raul Guillermo Rodriguez Castro, the grandson of former Cuban leader Raul Castro. Tensions around Cuba are increasing.
International news agencies report that recently, armed individuals on a speedboat registered in Florida entered Cuban waters and clashed with patrol forces. This incident resulted in several casualties and further strained relations between Washington and Havana.
Recently, US pressure on Cuba has intensified. Specifically, serious restrictions on oil supplies to the island have worsened the country's economic situation.
Trump's statement focused primarily on this economic crisis issue. Overall, Trump's mention of a "friendly takeover" is not a simple diplomatic remark but indicates the beginning of a new, contentious phase in US-Cuba relations.
Although there are conflicting reports regarding official negotiations, one thing is clear: the situation around Cuba is becoming increasingly serious and attracting international attention.
