The US is seeking an effective solution against Iranian drones

The US Department of Defense is facing serious difficulties in combating Iran's Shahed-type kamikaze drones. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to The Atlantic, during a closed-door meeting, Pentagon leadership admitted the lack of cheap and effective means to neutralize these drones. The main problem is that expensive air defense missiles have to be used to shoot down cheap and widely used drones.
Experts believe this situation leads to rapid depletion of resources and excessive strain on defense systems. The strategy of responding to a "cheap attack" with an "expensive response" is economically unsustainable in the long term.
Currently, countries like the US and Israel are facing significant challenges precisely because of this imbalance. As the number of drones increases, stopping them each time with costly systems quickly exhausts military reserves.
To address the situation, the US is forced to reconsider its military doctrine. Now, the main focus is on developing specialized drones against drones, electronic warfare tools, and mobile anti-aircraft units.
If cheap and mass countermeasures are not developed in the near future, drones like Shahed will continue to wear down air defense systems and significantly reduce military budgets.
