Meat prices remain high in Kazakhstan due to exports

Meat prices in Kazakhstan remain high because this product is actively exported to neighboring countries, especially Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information was provided by Yerbol Tasjurekov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan. Journalists asked the deputy minister why meat prices have not decreased despite significant funds being allocated to state programs for livestock development.
According to Tasjurekov, there is no shortage of meat in the country, but prices remain high because a large portion of beef is exported to foreign markets. He noted that due to high demand for meat products, especially to Uzbekistan, exports are carried out in large volumes.
The deputy minister emphasized that Kazakhstan produces about 430 thousand tons of meat annually, while domestic market demand is about 400 thousand tons. The remaining products are directed for export.
He also stated that a comprehensive plan aimed at further developing livestock farming is planned to be adopted within the next three years.
