Si Jinping strengthened the fight against corruption in the army

Chinese leader Xi Jinping announced the launch of a strict campaign against corruption and disloyalty within the country's armed forces. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Speaking at the annual session of the parliament, he emphasized that there is no place in the army for individuals who are disloyal to the party and involved in bribery. This statement was made during a meeting attended by representatives of the People's Liberation Army and the People's Armed Police.
According to analysts, these actions are part of a comprehensive cleansing campaign that has been ongoing since mid-2023. During this period, several high-ranking members of the Central Military Commission, including the former defense minister and more than ten generals, were removed from their positions.
In particular, the investigation of General Zhang Youxia, considered a close ally of Xi Jinping, caused a major stir. Some foreign sources suspect the general of disclosing state secrets, including nuclear information, to the United States.
According to Bloomberg agency data, 113 delegates did not attend this year's National People's Congress. This situation indicates significant changes within the government.
This figure is the lowest in recent years, second only to the period following the pandemic. Observers associate this situation with the ongoing purges in the army and the state governance system.
