Trump: Good news is expected regarding Ukraine, a meeting with Putin in Istanbul is also possible
US President Donald Trump announced that "good news" regarding the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine may be announced in the coming days. He made this statement during a meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

"I think there is a possibility of positive news regarding Ukraine today, tomorrow, or on Friday. But we will see," Trump said at a press conference in Doha.

Additionally, the US leader expressed special gratitude to Qatar for its support of Washington's diplomatic initiatives, particularly in resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

Meeting with Putin in Istanbul? Trump did not deny it

President Trump also did not rule out the possibility of meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Istanbul. He stated that he is ready to make this visit if it serves to stop military actions in Ukraine, restore peace, and save lives.

"If the meeting in Istanbul is a step towards peace, I will definitely go there," Trump’s words were also confirmed by the US special representative for Ukraine, Kurt Volker.

According to him, Trump's participation in Istanbul, if Putin also attends, "could turn into a completely unexpected and historic meeting."
