Zelensky Announced Sending Drones to Protect the US Base in Jordan

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced important information in an interview with The New York Times. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, the Kyiv government has decided to send its drones and a team of experienced specialists to protect the United States military base in Jordan. This step was taken at Washington's urgent request and marks a new phase in military cooperation between the two countries.
According to President Zelenskiy, after the US requested assistance, Ukrainian specialists prepared for the trip and set off on the mission within just one day. There are deep strategic reasons behind this cooperation.
During the war against Ukraine, Russia has been extensively using strike drones like the Shahed produced by Iran. As a result, the Ukrainian armed forces have become one of the armies in the world with the richest experience in defending against and targeting such drones.
Since the US and its partners in the Middle East are also facing similar threats, Kyiv is striving to strengthen ties with Washington by offering its unique expertise and technical capabilities. According to analysts, this situation has become doubly significant for Ukraine.
Firstly, Kyiv aims to strengthen its position in future peace negotiations mediated by the US and to draw the international community's attention back to the war in Ukraine. Secondly, Ukraine is considering obtaining modern air defense systems it needs in exchange for the assistance provided.
Although the escalation of the situation in the Middle East has changed the global political agenda, Zelenskiy is trying to use this situation for diplomatic gains. At the same time, a certain caution and tension remain in relations between Ukraine and the US.
In particular, recent critical remarks made by US President Donald Trump about Zelenskiy may not have fully resolved the issue of trust between the two countries. Despite this, improving relations with countries in the Middle East and softening their ties with Russia has become one of the priority tasks of Ukraine's foreign policy.
In the final analysis, Kyiv's move is evaluated not only as military assistance but also as an important diplomatic maneuver to maintain its position on the global political stage.
