Zelensky is trying to persuade Trump, but did the conversation with Putin change all the plans?
The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, is trying to persuade Washington to shift its position through a softer, diplomatic approach in relations with U.S. President Donald Trump, according to an analytical article published by The Wall Street Journal. However, the publication notes that these efforts may not be sufficient.

Zelensky - Open to Trump, Ready for Putin

According to reports, Zelensky supported the temporary ceasefire plan proposed by Trump. Additionally, an agreement was signed between Ukraine and the U.S. regarding mineral resources. Zelensky even headed to Turkey with the intention of meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin — but Putin did not agree to come.

Trump - Softening Towards Putin Again?

Journalists note that despite these efforts, Trump showed a willingness to support the peace scenario proposed by the Kremlin after a phone conversation with Putin yesterday. The U.S. leader has been observed softening his position towards Moscow despite previous sharp criticisms.

Not Sanctions, But Dialogue First

According to WSJ, Trump had previously threatened to impose new sanctions against Russia in response to Putin's rejection of peace. However, such measures were not taken. On the contrary, Trump emphasized that Kyiv and Moscow need to engage in dialogue.

Zelensky - "Endurance" and Hope

Despite previous disputes, Zelensky held another meeting with Trump — this time in the Vatican. This conversation took place in a spirit of reconciliation, but the positive attitude of the American president towards Putin remains.

In his latest statement, Trump indicated that he is considering "red lines" regarding actions to stop the Russia-Ukraine war.

Putin: "There are issues that need to be resolved"

Kremlin leader Putin has stated publicly that he is open to ending the war. However, he emphasized that before the cessation of hostilities, "a number of complex issues" must be resolved.

From the editorial office of Zamin.uz:
Diplomatic maneuvers and personal communications in the political arena are making the path to peace increasingly complicated. With Zelensky's soft policy and Trump's leaning towards Putin — who do you think will emerge victorious in this game? Who should take the first step towards peace?
