In Norin district of Namangan region, following President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's criticism, district governor Jo‘rabek Nurmatov made an important decision. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He began living in a container house installed in Sho‘rariq neighborhood to be in close contact with the population and to resolve problems on site. This was announced by the regional governor's press service.
President Mirziyoyev's practical visit to Namangan region on September 16-17 marked the beginning of a new era in the area. Under the leadership of regional governor Shavkatjon Abdurazzoqov, relevant officials started large-scale work to renovate the neighborhood, develop infrastructure, and improve the living standards of the population.
In initial meetings, plans were discussed to establish an industrial zone in place of vacant buildings in the neighborhood, create new jobs, and fundamentally renew roads and infrastructure. The process of developing a master plan for the sustainable development of New Namangan and six surrounding neighborhoods was launched.
To coordinate these efforts, a special regional headquarters was established. The president's visit revealed the true condition of the neighborhood.
More than five thousand residents live in the area, including 62 low-income families, 118 unemployed individuals, and 157 citizens engaged in labor migration. The head of state inspected dusty streets and empty buildings, listened to the residents' opinions, and gave strict instructions to the officials.
He even emphasized that the district governor should stay here if necessary. Following this, the Norin district governor's move into the container house is regarded as a practical demonstration of his responsible approach to work.
Experts emphasize that this decision will accelerate reforms in the neighborhood, enable problems to be solved on site, and establish constant communication with the population. The governor's residence in the container house is accepted as an embodiment of the head of state's requirement that responsible persons should be close to the people in practice.
