Putin told Trump about the prevention of terrorist attacks near the Kremlin on May 9
The assistant to the President of Russia, Yuri Ushakov, stated that ahead of the "Victory Day" celebration, the special services had "prevented the threat of terrorist attacks" in the Kremlin and Red Square area. He made this known in an interview with Interfax.

According to him, Vladimir Putin told U.S. President Donald Trump during a phone conversation that Ukraine had launched hundreds of drones and "Storm Shadow" missiles at Russia, most of which were shot down.

“Our president recently emphasized the significance of the great Victory anniversary, noting that Russia declared a three-day ceasefire on the eve of the holiday, after which, on the night of May 6 to May 7, Ukraine launched 524 drones into Russian territory, as well as American "Storm Shadow" missiles. Almost all of them were directed towards Moscow, and at the same time, the threat of terrorist attacks was prevented in the capital's center and Red Square,” Ushakov said (the "Storm Shadow" is actually produced and supplied by the United Kingdom and France, not the U.S.).

Ushakov emphasized that Putin "certainly did not mention this to Trump by chance, as the Ukrainians had directly threatened foreign participants in the holiday events," and also attempted "to intimidate foreign leaders and hinder their arrival in Moscow." The Russian side wanted to highlight that "the authors of this intimidation were those who respect Nazi criminals and promote militaristic views."

Putin's assistant stated that "this topic was discussed in sufficient detail during the conversation between the two presidents yesterday, and it is worth noting this separately."

He added that the presidents "spoke warmly and at length about how our countries were allies during World War II, fighting together against fascist Germany and militaristic Japan."

On May 6 and 7, airports in Moscow and other regions of Russia suspended operations due to attacks from Ukrainian drones. On May 8, in the afternoon, Rosaviatsiya reported that the situation at the airports in the Moscow region had stabilized.
