The US proposed disarmament conditions to Hamas

Reports have spread that US President Donald Trump sent a written list of conditions for Hamas to give up its weapons in order to establish peace. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to NPR and Reuters agencies, this proposal was made during negotiations held last week in Cairo. The talks involved Council Director Nikolay Mladenov as well as Trump’s representative Steve Witkoff and his advisor Ariye Laitstoun.
Later, Mladenov wrote that only one clear path is being proposed in the talks, and that path is the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups. Hamas has not yet given an official comment on this proposal.
According to reports, negotiations were halted after the war involving the US and Israel began in Iran on February 28. This issue is of great importance for the future of Gaza.
Analysts have stated that about 70 billion dollars will be needed to fully rebuild the enclave. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has emphasized that reconstruction can only begin after Hamas is disarmed.
Hamas firmly rejects this demand. No country involved in the stabilization process has so far agreed to enforce such a step by force.
The current conflict began after the Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Approximately 1,200 people were killed in this attack, over 250 were taken hostage and brought to Gaza.
Following this, Israel launched a large-scale war against Hamas. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, more than 70,000 Palestinians have died and over 169,000 have been injured.
Since October 10, 2025, an uncertain ceasefire has been maintained in the area.
