The Kremlin officially refused to congratulate the leader of the Hungarian opposition

Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov officially announced that the Kremlin will not congratulate Peter Magyar, leader of the Tisa party, who achieved success in the Hungarian parliamentary elections. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In his statement, the Kremlin representative emphasized that Moscow does not send congratulations to countries categorized as unfriendly states. It was noted that Hungary is currently among the list of countries pursuing a hostile policy toward Russia and supporting international sanctions.
According to Peskov, Budapest's active participation in the restrictions imposed against Russia is negatively impacting bilateral diplomatic relations. At the same time, the Russian side stated it would closely monitor how Hungary's future political direction takes shape.
The Kremlin representative added that Moscow is always ready for mutually beneficial and pragmatic cooperation, and doors remain open for dialogue if constructive steps are taken by Hungary. It is worth noting that the parliamentary elections in Hungary took place against a backdrop of complex political situations and tensions related to the European Union and Kyiv.
This process is expected to cause significant changes in regional politics. Russian officials will continue to analyze the foreign policy decisions of the new government in Hungary.
For now, coolness persists in the relations between the two countries, and the Kremlin indicates it has no intention of changing its position in this regard. Political observers remain focused on what path the Hungarian government will take in the future and how its choices in the international arena will affect relations with Russia.
