Nearly two hundred civilians were killed as a result of an airstrike in Nigeria

Reports have emerged that nearly two hundred civilians were killed as a result of an aviation attack on one of the village markets located in Yobe State, Nigeria. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Based on information from local residents and representatives of the regional council, the Reuters news agency notes that this tragic event occurred as a result of an airstrike carried out by the Nigerian Air Force. The number of victims increased sharply because the attack targeted a crowded market area.
While the Nigerian military confirmed that a special operation was conducted against the Boko Haram terrorist group operating in the neighboring Borno State, they have not yet provided any official comment regarding the deaths of civilians at the market. Officials from Yobe State partially confirmed that an attack took place in the area near the Jilli market and stated that some citizens were injured, but they are refraining from disclosing exact figures on the number of deceased.
Local council representative Lavani Zanna Nur Geidam estimates that more than two hundred people lost their lives as a result of the attack. Representatives of international humanitarian organizations and residents at the scene are confirming similar data.
Search and rescue operations are currently ongoing in the area, and there are concerns that the number of victims may increase further. This incident raises serious questions regarding security issues and the transparency of military operations in Nigeria.
Official agencies are expected to launch investigative actions to study the situation thoroughly. For now, expressing condolences to the relatives of the deceased and clarifying the details of the event remain the priority tasks.
