The list of the world's wealthiest individuals has been updated, as reported by Zamin.uz. The prestigious Forbes magazine has presented its fortieth anniversary billionaires ranking to the public.

This year, the number of the richest people on the planet increased significantly compared to last year, reaching 3,428. This figure indicates changes in the global economy and the strengthening position of major investors.

Historical records in this ranking and the updated wealth of Russian billionaires are drawing significant attention. One of the most sensational events in this year's ranking involved Alexey Mordashov, a representative of the metallurgical and gold mining industry.

His capital reached $37 billion, setting a new record as the first entrepreneur in the history of Russian business to surpass the $30 billion threshold. The main factor behind this massive growth was Nord Gold, a company owned by the Mordashov family.

As a result of an 80% increase in gold prices on the global market, the company's value doubled that of Severstal shares, another major asset of the entrepreneur. On a global scale, the total wealth of billionaires is currently estimated at $20.1 trillion.

The past year was also quite successful for Russia's wealthy. Their number increased from 146 last year to 155.

The total capital of the participants rose from $625.5 billion to $696.5 billion. This growth was driven by the stabilization of the ruble exchange rate and large dividends paid by major companies.

Consequently, the financial status of 85 billionaires improved. At the same time, the ranking is notable not only for gains but also for losses.

Although 14 new names were added to the list, some entrepreneurs left the ranking for various reasons. For instance, Dmitry Kamenshchik lost his fortune due to processes related to Domodedovo Airport, while Arkady Volozh was removed from the list following his renunciation of Russian citizenship.

Additionally, the confiscation of assets or restrictions on the activities of certain entrepreneurs also influenced the distribution of wealth. The rise in gold prices benefited not only Mordashov but also Suleiman Kerimov.

Along with his family, he possesses a capital of $25.7 billion, securing a spot among the top five richest entrepreneurs. According to experts, such rapid growth in wealth depends not only on raw material prices but also on correctly chosen strategic decisions.

The increase in billionaires' wealth is defining new trends in the global economy.
