Progressive Bulgaria Coalition Wins Parliamentary Elections in Bulgaria

Early parliamentary elections in Bulgaria have brought significant changes to the country's political landscape, Zamin.uz reports. According to preliminary data released by the Central Election Commission, the Progressive Bulgaria coalition, led by former President Rumen Radev, achieved a decisive victory.
Approximately 44.7% of voters cast their ballots for this political force, representing nearly 1.5 million citizens. The election results clearly reflect the public's stance on ongoing reforms.
A total of five political forces managed to enter the newly formed parliament. Out of 240 seats in the country's legislature, 131 were secured by the Progressive Bulgaria coalition.
This result grants the winning coalition an absolute majority in parliament and a dominant position in forming the government. The remaining mandates were distributed among other parties: the GERB party secured 39 seats, while the 'We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria' bloc took 38 seats.
Additionally, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and the Revival party also garnered enough votes to secure representation in parliament. Former President Rumen Radev praised the victory, interpreting the result as a testament to the people's faith in freedom and the future.
He emphasized that the voting process was a significant victory over fear and mistrust within society. The final and full composition of the parliament is scheduled to be officially announced on April 25 of this year.
These elections are expected to define Bulgaria's development path for the coming years.
