American Millionaire Killed by Wild Elephant Attack in Gabon

Another hunting safari in the African nation of Gabon has ended in tragedy. According to Zamin.uz, 75-year-old US entrepreneur and millionaire Ernie Dozio lost his life following an attack by wild elephants.
International news outlets, specifically the Daily Mail, have provided detailed reports on the incident. According to reports, the businessman, who had ventured deep into the tropical rainforests accompanied by an experienced hunter, faced an unexpected situation.
They encountered a herd of five female elephants with their calves. Following natural instincts, the wild animals perceived the humans' presence as a threat to their offspring and attacked immediately.
During the confrontation, Dozio's companion lost his balance, fell, and dropped his weapon after sustaining a serious injury. Although the millionaire himself was armed, the swiftness of the attack left him no time to defend himself.
Consequently, he was trampled to death by the massive animals. Efforts are currently underway to repatriate the deceased's body to the US state of California.
The US Embassy in Gabon is working with local authorities to process all necessary documentation. Experts note that elephants are not naturally aggressive toward humans and rarely attack.
However, in cases of sudden encounters in dense forests, female elephants can become extremely dangerous while protecting their young. In a related context, other life-threatening wildlife encounters are being reported elsewhere.
For instance, two American soldiers were recently attacked by a bear at a military range in Alaska. During the incident, which occurred during training exercises, the soldiers managed to save their lives by using specialized pepper spray.
Such events serve as a reminder that in the wilderness, even the most rigorous safety precautions are sometimes not enough.
