Uzbeks were not injured in a train and bus collision in Thailand

On May 16 of this year, a tragic road accident occurred in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, as reported by Zamin.uz.
The collision between a freight train and a passenger bus resulted in numerous casualties, drawing attention not only from local residents but also from the international community.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan issued an official statement regarding the incident, providing details about the condition of our citizens at the scene. According to the ministry’s official position, no citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan were injured in this tragic accident.
This news brought relief to many of our compatriots who were concerned about their relatives abroad. Based on preliminary information, it can be said that eight people lost their lives in the unfortunate incident.
Additionally, 33 passengers with injuries of varying severity were taken to hospitals. According to the latest data from medical facilities, 15 of the injured were discharged after receiving first aid.
The remaining 18 citizens continue to undergo treatment under medical supervision. It has been confirmed that two of the deceased are Thai nationals.
Forensic-medical expertise and investigative work are ongoing to identify the remaining victims. A report from the forensic department of the Bangkok Police Hospital confirmed once again that no Uzbek nationals are listed among the deceased.
Representatives of Uzbekistan’s consular institution in Thailand are closely monitoring the situation and maintaining constant contact with local law enforcement authorities. The diplomatic mission has stated that it is fully prepared to provide prompt assistance to its citizens if necessary.
Experts and officials urge our compatriots abroad to strictly observe safety measures and exercise caution when using transportation. Furthermore, they recommend relying only on official information provided by state authorities and avoiding unverified rumors spread through unofficial channels.
