The body of journalist Roxana Gusman, who disappeared in Mexico, was found

In the Mexican state of Veracruz, the remains of journalist Roxana Gusmán, who had gone missing, were found. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This is reported by the Reuters news agency. According to the information received, on June 2 of this year, unknown individuals armed and wearing masks broke into the home of the director of Pulso Informativo del Sureste, a publication covering crime topics, and forcibly took him away.
As a result of the abductors' actions, the journalist was killed, and then they attempted to conceal the traces by burning the body in fuel-filled barrels. Subsequently, a forensic medical examination of the remains found on the estate confirmed that the body indeed belonged to Roxana Gusmán.
Law enforcement agencies detained eight suspects in connection with this heinous crime. Among those arrested were four police officers from the Ishuatlan-del-Sureste municipality, which came as a shock to the public.
They are accused of providing various resources, food supplies, and logistics services to a criminal group, thereby assisting in the commission of the crime. According to information from the international organization Article 19, which protects freedom of expression, two more journalists in Mexico have lost their lives this year due to work-related causes.
According to the organization's data, since October 2024, the number of media workers killed in the country has reached 10. These figures once again confirm that Mexico remains one of the most dangerous and deadly countries in the world for journalistic activity.
Currently, additional investigative actions are underway regarding this incident.
