The number of billionaires worldwide rose 13% in a year.

The number of ultra-wealthy individuals continues to rise globally, according to a report by Zamin.uz.
According to the latest annual report from UBS Bank, the number of billionaires worldwide reached 3,302 by April 2026, marking a 13% increase compared to the same period last year.
Over the past year, 383 new individuals joined this influential list. The total financial assets of billionaires also rose significantly, with growth reaching 25%.
Analysts note the highest growth was observed in South Korea, where the number of billionaires increased from 31 to 52.
Moreover, their combined wealth surged by an astonishing 139%. In Chile, while the number of billionaires remained unchanged, their total wealth grew by 80%.
In the Czech Republic, two new individuals were added to the list, bringing the total wealth of the group up by 60%. The United States continues to lead the world in the number of billionaires.
Currently, over 1,000 billionaires reside in the U.S. The next positions are held by China (562), India (211), Germany (193), and Russia (122).
These countries are considered the primary drivers of the global economy. The report also includes interesting data on the distribution of wealth.
The majority of the world’s billionaires have fortunes under $50 billion. The number of individuals with assets between $50 billion and $100 billion stands at 18.
At the very top—those with wealth exceeding $100 billion—there are just 19 individuals. These figures highlight that the world’s largest fortunes are concentrated in an extremely small group.
