According to specialists, the flow of hot air will soon reach the Paris region and more than twenty additional administrative areas. Activation of this exceptional mechanism—previously used only during major floods or natural disasters—is now linked to record-breaking temperature levels.
Currently, many regions of the country are experiencing extremely high temperatures. Since the beginning of the year, over eight thousand cases of heatstroke have been recorded in France, and tens of thousands of hectares of land have suffered from drought, indicating the seriousness of the situation.
As a result, state authorities are implementing protective measures for the elderly, children, and people with chronic illnesses. Special cooling centers have been established in cities, and medical facilities are being additionally equipped with necessary technical devices.
Weather analysis services estimate that the heatwave will persist for several more days. The government is urging the public to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, drink more water, and strictly follow safety guidelines.
