Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reiterated the necessity for Israel to completely withdraw from the occupied territories to resolve the Gaza issue. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He made this statement during a meeting with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in Amman. The meeting discussed the recent events in Palestine, including the violence being perpetrated against the civilian population.
In his speech, Abbas emphasized the urgent need to cease fire, release all citizens, and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. In his view, the only fundamental solution is the complete withdrawal of Israel from the territories.
After that, Gaza will fully fall under the responsibility of the Palestinian state. The state leader called on HAMAS to hand over weapons to the official administration and to participate in political processes within the framework of the organization for the liberation of Palestine.
Previously, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel had accepted the 60-day ceasefire conditions presented with the mediation of Qatar and Egypt. HAMAS responded positively and announced its readiness for negotiations.
However, the Israeli side rejected the amendments proposed by HAMAS. After that, the Israeli delegation headed to Doha, the capital of Qatar, with the aim of continuing negotiations.
According to sources, agreements have been reached on many issues, but the main conflict is Israel's demand to maintain military control over the city of Rafah in southern Gaza and the Moran corridor.
