A 20-year-old American citizen, Saif Musallet, dreamed of celebrating his 21st birthday in Palestine with his family. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
However, he did not make it to that day. According to Palestinian health authorities, he was violently beaten to death by Israeli invaders in the town of Sinjil in the West Bank.
Saif Musallet was an ordinary young man running an ice cream shop with his father in Tampa. After Friday prayers, he and other Palestinians were attacked by invaders while they were out to see their land.
The Israeli army used stones, sticks, and firearms. They forced Musallet to the ground and beat him with sticks.
His brother arrived at the scene and called for help, but the rescue service could not arrive for more than two hours. The passage of ambulances was not allowed due to ongoing violence in the area and the use of tear gas by the Israeli army.
According to witnesses, Saif was still breathing, and if help had arrived on time, his life could have been saved. Saif's father, Kamel Musallet, blames not only the invaders for his son's death but also the Israeli army and the U.S. government.
He emphasizes that they obstructed the passage of ambulances, that the invaders moved freely, and that the U.S. government remained silent. The U.S. government only offered condolences through the consulate, but previous sanctions were lifted.
Kamel Musallet is dissatisfied that the rights of Palestinians with U.S. citizenship are not adequately protected. He demands equality and calls for equal treatment for every citizen, regardless of their nationality.
Saif Musallet's death signifies not only a family tragedy but also an escalation of the situation in the West Bank. According to UN data, approximately 1,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank since October 7, 2023.
For witness Hafez Abdel Jabbar, these attacks have become a part of his life. His son, Tawfiq, was also killed by Israeli invaders in January 2024.
He states that the world is indifferent to these events, and mothers are losing their grown children over the years. The Musallet family is demanding an independent investigation from the U.S. and is expecting a clear and firm response from Washington.
They are also calling on the international community to take decisive measures against Israel's policies and acts of invasion in the West Bank.
