The White House said that they would restore communication with Zelensky
The global political landscape is still unable to escape the impact of the dispute between Trump and Zelensky that occurred on the last day of winter in the White House. No matter what event takes place, it remains overshadowed by that scandal. Trump, Vens, and Zelensky, despite their attempts to discuss other topics during their public appearances after the "explosion" in the Oval Office, inevitably find themselves drawn back to that subject.

Let's pause to consider the important statements made after the dispute between the US and the Ukrainian president.

"The doors are still open"

US Vice President Jay De Vens gave an interview to the Republican platform on Fox News. While discussing the meeting with Zelensky, Vens stated that during the first half hour, Trump maintained a diplomatic approach even when the Ukrainian president said things he didn't like, but the situation escalated when Zelensky continued in that manner. Vens blamed Zelensky for the start of the scandal.

According to the US Vice President, Zelensky later wanted to return to the White House and talk to Trump, but Trump said there was no point in that. However, Vens also mentioned that the doors are open to restore communication between Trump and Zelensky.

"President Trump has made it clear: the doors are still open for communication. However, for that, Zelensky must be ready to talk about peace. You cannot even discuss the details of a peace agreement without going to the Oval Office. If they want peace, I believe President Trump will pick up the phone without hesitation," says Vens.

What did Trump say?

Donald Trump participated in a briefing with journalists once again. He was asked if it was possible to maintain an agreement with Ukraine regarding mineral resources. The US president replied, "Yes." Then he was asked what Zelensky should do to restore communication.

"He should be a bit grateful, after all, the US was by their side in their hardest days. We provided them with more help than Europe. While they are a barrier for Europe. Ukraine is an important country for Europe, I am not criticizing Europe with this statement, just that they acted much smarter than Biden. I want everything to end sooner. The war should not drag on for years. In an interview with the AP, which I do not like, Zelensky said the war will last a long time. Hopefully, he is mistaken," said Trump.

Will Zelensky apologize?

The future German Chancellor Fredrick Mers made an interesting comment about the scandal in the Oval Office. "I watched the meeting in the White House several times and was surprised by the tone of the conversation. Usually, the open part of such meetings lasts a few minutes, but it was different there. It was evident that this was a staged escalation," quoted Mers by "European Pravda." According to the future German leader, the scandal in the Oval Office is "a reference to the conscience of the current government in the US."

These days, calls are echoing in America for Zelensky to apologize to Trump in front of the camera. In particular, Secretary of State Marco Rubio shares this view. Journalists also asked Trump if Zelensky should apologize. However, according to BBC sources, Zelensky does not want to apologize to Trump. Zelensky himself, in an interview with Fox News on the day of the scandal, stated that he had not done anything that would require an apology.
