In February 2025, the specialists of the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Research (IMTR) analyzed the changes in car prices in the secondary market.
Prices of local popular cars
- In February of this year, the average price of local popular cars decreased. Specifically:
- Onix: the average used price decreased by 3% (from $13,500 to $13,100), the less used price decreased by 0.1% (from $14,865 to $14,850);
- Lacetti: the heavily used price decreased by 0.3% (from $13,500 to $13,461);
- Cobalt: the average used price decreased by 2.4% (from $12,300 to $12,000), the less used price decreased by 1.2% (from $12,750 to $12,600), the heavily used price decreased by 0.5% (from $11,600 to $11,538);
- Nexia: the average used price decreased by 1.9% (from $11,500 to $11,284); the heavily used price decreased by 0.9% (from $10,800 to $10,700);
- Spark: the average used price decreased by 1% (from $10,500 to $10,400), the heavily used price decreased by 0.9% (from $9,600 to $9,500);
- Damas: the average used price decreased by 3.6% (from $7,985 to $7,000), the less used price decreased by 0.8% (from $8,061 to $8,000).
Prices of local luxury cars
- Equinox: the heavily used price decreased by 1.1% (from $27,300 to $27,000), while the average used price increased by 3.2% (from $31,000 to $32,000);
- Malibu: the less used price decreased by 0.7% (from $31,907 to $31,682), while the average used price remained almost unchanged (from $29,000 to $29,070);
- Tracker: the heavily used price decreased by 1.1% (from $16,984 to $16,800), while no changes were observed in the prices of less and average used cars.
Prices of BYD electric vehicles
- During this period, the BYD E2 has become a serious competitor to local popular cars in terms of price, and the price of the new BYD Song Plus has significantly decreased.
- BYD E2: the new price decreased by 1.8% (from $16,800 to $16,500), the heavily used price decreased by 2% (from $14,800 to $14,500);
- BYD Han: the new price decreased by 0.5% (from $32,150 to $32,000), the average used price decreased by 4.4% (from $36,500 to $34,900);
- BYD Song Plus DM-i Champion: the new price decreased by 1.7% (from $29,000 to $28,500), the average used price decreased by 0.2% (from $27,050 to $27,000), the heavily used price decreased by 0.6% (from $24,650 to $24,500);
- BYD Song Plus EV Champion: the new price decreased by 1.1% (from $28,000 to $27,700);
- BYD Yuan Up: the new price decreased by 1.4% (from $20,800 to $20,514).
Prices of KIA cars
- KIA Sorento: the average used price decreased by 1.3% (from $40,000 to $39,500), while the heavily used price increased by 1.3% (from $40,000 to $39,500);
- KIA Sportage: the average used price decreased by 2.3% (from $31,590 to $30,850), the heavily used price decreased by 4.6% (from $29,733 to $28,363);
- KIA K5: the average used price decreased by 1.3% (from $27,549 to $27,200), the heavily used price decreased by 1.9% (from $26,500 to $26,000).
The cars are categorized based on the distance traveled and the year of manufacture as follows:
- “Less used” - cars manufactured in 2024 with a distance traveled of up to 20,000 km and all cars manufactured in 2025;
- “Average used” - cars manufactured in 2024 with a distance traveled of 20,000 km to 50,000 km, as well as cars manufactured in 2022-2023 with a distance traveled of up to 40,000 km;
- “Heavily used” - cars manufactured in 2024 with a distance traveled of more than 50,000 km, cars manufactured in 2022-2023 with a distance traveled of more than 40,000 km, and all cars manufactured in 2021.
Data for price analysis was collected through web scraping from the olx.uz platform. This included 20,200 data points for cars manufactured in 2021 or later for January and 18,500 data points for February.
