According to the naav.ru portal, some car drivers in China have started installing video cameras aimed at the car's pedals. This method is primarily used by electric vehicle owners, but experts believe it could also become widespread in other countries, including Russia.
This idea emerged after accidents related to Tesla's autopilot in China. If the car manufacturer wants to blame the driver for the incident, the video recording can confirm the driver's pedal movements and prove their innocence.
Such cases have significantly increased in China. Previously, drivers had expressed dissatisfaction with Elon Musk due to issues with Tesla's braking system. For example, at an auto show in Shanghai, a woman climbed onto the roof of a Tesla car and loudly claimed that the brakes were not working. Her T-shirt had the inscription: "Tesla brakes have gone out of control." The brakes had failed in her Model 3 vehicle, putting her family's safety at risk.
Additionally, a few years ago in the US, there was a scandal regarding stuck gas pedals in Toyota vehicles, resulting in dozens of people being harmed.
Despite this, Tesla continues to maintain its leadership in electric vehicle sales. Chinese drivers are not giving up on these cars, but they are now using pedal-mounted cameras for safety.
