President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted an important issue that is causing discontent among the urban population, namely the blockage of streets around the administrative buildings of ministries, agencies, and local authorities. This was reported by Upl.uz.
He noted that this problem is particularly worsening in large cities. Employees of these organizations often occupy 2-3 lanes of the road to park their cars, which is leading to an increase in traffic jams.
Based on the president's directive, a survey was conducted among 15,000 drivers. The results showed that many drivers are forced to park their cars on the roadside due to the lack of official and legal parking spaces.
The president emphasized the absence of a single platform for drivers to freely convey their problems and be heard. Accordingly, the following measures were established.
First, the removal of unjustified prohibition signs around organizations and neighborhoods. Second, it will be ensured that illegal parking by employees of ministries and agencies is punished through the installation of photo and video surveillance cameras.
It was also specifically emphasized that state employees should actively use public transport and set a good example. Furthermore, it was decided that service vehicles of officials should not have priority on the roads, except in cases included in the officially approved list by the Cabinet of Ministers.
These measures are aimed at regulating the urban transport system and enhancing road safety.
