In the autumn of 2025, a record number of weddings were held in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to data from the Statistics Agency under the President, more than 95 thousand marriages were registered from January to September. This figure is 7.3 percent higher compared to the same period last year.
Wedding ceremonies remain one of the important means of preserving the cultural identity of the Uzbek people. Even compatriots living far from their homeland continue to celebrate weddings in accordance with customs and traditions, with hospitality, ceremonies, and live music.
According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), over 2 million Uzbeks live and work abroad in 2024-2025. Live music at weddings held in Moscow, Istanbul, or New York continues to give a special spirit to the celebrations.
Wind instruments such as the clarinet, saxophone, and duduk hold a central place in Uzbek weddings and festivities. These instruments are an integral part of our national culture, and the tradition of playing them continues.
In this regard, musician Sergey Kas’yan from Bukhara deserves special attention. Since 2000, he has been active in the Bukhara Musicians Association, making a significant contribution to the development of wind instruments.
This year, he is celebrating 25 years of membership in this association. Sergey Kas’yan is not only a musician but also a source of inspiration for the younger generation and actively participates in preserving national culture.
Kas’yan, who won 2nd place in the republican competition held in Tashkent and is a member of the jury for the youth competition, strives to build a musical bridge between different generations and cultures. He emphasizes the emotional impact and importance of wind instruments at events.
According to him, these instruments set the rhythm of weddings, control emotions, and shape the overall mood of the event. For representatives of the Uzbek diaspora, weddings, even if held far from the motherland, are an important means of preserving national culture and continuing traditions.
Through his creativity and skill, Sergey Kas’yan contributes to preserving our national traditions. Through music, he reminds compatriots of their homeland and plays an important role in safeguarding our cultural values.
In this way, the rich cultural heritage of the Uzbek people is passed on to future generations.
