Famous British director Christopher Nolan has announced that he has completed filming one of his biggest projects, the movie “The Odyssey.” This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In an interview with Empire magazine, he revealed that more than two million feet (609.6 kilometers) of film reel were used for the movie. The shooting lasted 91 days, with most scenes filmed on the open sea.
“The Odyssey” is a new adaptation based on Homer’s famous epic poem “The Odyssey.” The lead role of Odysseus is played by Matt Damon.
Additionally, well-known actors such as Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, and Robert Pattinson also participated in this project. According to Nolan, this film was created as a tribute to his favorite legendary adventure films from childhood.
He says: “No one had imagined recreating the Harryhausen-style adventure films I watched as a child with today’s IMAX technology and a big budget. I wanted to fill exactly that gap.” The film’s premiere will take place on July 17, 2026, in IMAX format.
Critics are already evaluating “The Odyssey” as Christopher Nolan’s next monumental work.
