The bronze statue of Bollywood's famous actors Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol has been installed at Leicester Square in London. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This statue was created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the famous film "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," featuring the iconic dance scene of Raj and Simran that entered film history. It is noted that this square has previously been enriched with statues dedicated to characters from several famous films.
Among them are characters from projects such as "Harry Potter," "Mary Poppins," and "Paddington Adventures." The grand opening ceremony was attended by Akshay Vidhani, head of "Yash Raj Films," and Ros Morgan, Chief Executive Officer of the "Heart of London Business Alliance."
In his speech, Shah Rukh Khan emphasized that the film "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" holds an important place in his life. "This film tells a story about sincere love and the trials encountered along the way.
The fact that the film has been loved and watched for 30 years is proof of that," said the actor. Kajol described this moment as "our history coming alive once again," noting that the film continues to be loved and watched by generations.
It is known that Leicester Square holds symbolic significance for this film as well, because in one of the opening scenes, Raj and Simran lose their way here and later meet again.
