Work on the animated film “Zootopia–3” has begun. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The directors who worked on the “Zootopia–2” animated film, Byron Howard and Jared Bush, announced this during a live interaction with fans on China’s Weibo social network. They openly stated that work on the new installment has already started.
According to the directors, the release of the third part will not be delayed by nine years like the second film. Byron Howard said about this: “We are not planning to wait that long to release the next film on screens.
We hope it will be ready much sooner.” These words sparked great interest and hope among fans. Jared Bush added that the team is currently actively working on various plot directions.
He emphasized that while shaping the plot usually takes 2–3 years, the entire film production process lasts 4–5 years. If all plans are carried out on time, “Zootopia–3” could be released around 2030.
Additionally, the directors did not rule out the possibility of birds appearing in the new installment. In their opinion, the feathers seen at the end of the second part might hint at this idea.
Answering questions about why cats and dogs are absent in this world, they explained that in “Zootopia” there are no pets like humans. Furthermore, they announced plans to create separate projects and sketches dedicated to certain characters.
In particular, there is an idea to create a separate project about the fan-favorite sloth, Flash. The directors emphasized that the “Zootopia” universe should not be limited to just feature-length films, as its possibilities are vast.
