30 million euros from France: Energy efficiency will be increased in housing in Uzbekistan
Financial and technical assistance is expected to be provided by the French Development Agency (AFD) to implement the concept of ecological sustainability and energy-efficient housing in Uzbekistan. Within the framework of this cooperation, AFD plans to allocate a loan of 30 million euros to the Uzbekistan mortgage refinancing company.

According to official information distributed by the Ministry of Energy, the project is being developed to increase the energy efficiency of residential buildings in Uzbekistan. It has been noted that evaluation and preparation processes for the project are currently underway.

According to the document, it is planned to provide loans to final consumers — the population and private sector entities — through commercial banks under favorable conditions via the credit line and technical assistance provided by this French agency. The funds will primarily be directed to residential buildings equipped with energy-saving technologies or planning to implement such technologies.

As part of the project, an online survey is also being conducted to study citizens' knowledge and attitudes towards energy saving. This questionnaire has been prepared by specialists from French companies — Juru and AETS, and the data collected will serve to shape the economic and technical foundations of the project.

The Ministry of Energy expresses confidence that this initiative will not only reduce the population's electricity expenses but also improve the overall ecological environment.

Overall, this strategic partnership with AFD is being assessed as an important step in Uzbekistan's transition to a sustainable housing policy and a green economy. Through the implementation of this project, not only will our compatriots have the opportunity to reduce their energy costs, but the ecological culture in the country is also expected to rise.
