New cooperation doors opened between Uzbekistan and Buryatia
A large-scale meeting took place in the Republic of Buryatia, Russia, aimed at developing bilateral economic cooperation with Uzbekistan. The meeting was attended by Aslam Akbarov, the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk, Amgalan Darmayev, Deputy Chairman of the Buryatia Government and Minister of Agriculture and Food, as well as several high-level representatives.

The main theme of the meeting was dedicated to expanding and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation in agriculture and livestock between Uzbekistan and Buryatia. Minister Amgalan Darmayev emphasized that the Uzbek market is very promising and attractive for Buryatian farmers. According to him, there is great potential for increasing livestock and meat product exports. This, in turn, opens up additional economic opportunities for Buryatian farmers and serves to further strengthen cooperation ties with the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Consul General of Uzbekistan Aslam Akbarov focused on elevating trade and economic relations with Buryatia to a new level, including increasing the volume of deliveries of Uzbek agricultural products to Buryatia and subsequently to the Far East regions of Russia, as well as expanding the possibilities for delivering large and small cattle and horses from Buryatia to Uzbekistan.

The memorandum of understanding signed in May of last year between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Buryatia government was noted to have outlined the prospects for cooperation, especially in the field of breeding livestock, which is of significant importance.

The meeting also thoroughly discussed the issue of supplying high-quality fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan to Buryatia and systematically implementing this process. In this regard, the Uzbek side proposed establishing a wholesale distribution center for receiving and distributing fruit and vegetable products in the Buryatia region.

Special attention was also paid to developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of education. In particular, proposals were made to expand cooperation in the exchange of students and strengthening friendly relations between educational institutions, music, and culture schools in Tashkent and Ulan-Ude.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to establish a joint working group to outline practical steps. This working group will deal with organizing the delivery of large and small cattle to Uzbekistan with the participation of Rosselxoznadzor representatives, introducing Uzbek products to the Buryatia market, and establishing a modern wholesale distribution center there.

This comprehensive cooperation is expected to elevate economic ties between the two countries to a new level, bringing significant benefits for the welfare of the peoples. This will provide a strong impetus for the further development of bilateral relations.
