Baraka market network goes under Pepsi ownership
The Competition Committee has allowed the company "International Beverages Tashkent," which owns the Pepsi trademark, to purchase the Baraka market supermarket chain. This was reported by the committee's press service.

The Competition Committee reviewed the application of "International Beverages Tashkent" LLC for acquiring 100 percent of the shares of "Urban Retail" LLC.

"International Beverages Tashkent" LLC is an organization engaged in the production of soft drinks under the trademarks Pepsi, 7UP, Mirinda, Mountain Dew, Adrenaline Rush, and Lipton;

"Urban Retail" LLC is an organization that operates a supermarket chain under the Baraka market trademark, selling non-alcoholic soft drinks, food, and non-food products.

According to the analysis conducted by the committee's special commission, it was concluded that this transaction would be considered a corporate restructuring and would not directly affect the competitive environment, and a decision was made to satisfy the application," the report states.

According to the unified state register of enterprises and organizations, "Urban Retail" LLC was registered in July 2020 in Tashkent city. The current charter capital is 5 billion soums. 99 percent of the company's shares belong to "Holten Enterprise Holdings Ltd," registered in the UAE, and 1 percent belongs to "Holten Group Corp." Nikolay Viktorovich Razumovskiy is indicated as the head.

For reference, "Holten Enterprise Holdings Ltd" and "Holten Group Corp" are also the founders of "International Beverages Tashkent" with respective shares of 99.9 percent and 0.1 percent.
