The Uzbek delegation held negotiations with a number of official bodies in Slovakia, specifically with officials from the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Labor, Social Affairs, and Family.
The main focus was on issues such as supporting legal migration, attracting specialists from Uzbekistan to vacant jobs in Slovakia, and shortening the processing times for work visas.
The Slovak side emphasized that last year a total of 3000 quotas were allocated for citizens of Central Asian countries, but soon many of them left Slovakia and moved to other countries of the European Union. This was noted as contributing to illegal migration.
As a solution to such issues, it was agreed to work together on digitizing migration flows and to set specific quotas for Uzbekistan.
Additionally, confidence was expressed in the development of an intergovernmental agreement aimed at regulating migration processes between the two countries and in the prompt adoption of positive decisions.
