Korneyev: Spartak needs new players

Former coach of the Russian national team Igor Korneyev commented on the current state of the Moscow "Spartak" team and emphasized the need to strengthen the squad. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

The "Red-Whites" started the new season of the Russian Premier League with a narrow victory. In the first round, "Spartak" defeated the Makhachkala "Dynamo" team 1:0 at home.

Korneyev believes that "Spartak" needs to strengthen in certain areas so that the team can compete for higher positions. He particularly highlighted the necessity of adding central defenders and forwards.

Currently, the team only has Zaboloqniy and Ugalde, but Liva Garcia is not a central forward; he plays more on the wing. There are also issues in central midfield and right-back defense.

Korneyev expressed these thoughts on "Match TV". "Spartak" will play its next match against Kaliningrad's "Baltika" on July 26.

The team’s coach Deyan Stankovich is preparing seriously for this match. Overall, strengthening the "Spartak" team is crucial for its success this season.
