The Portuguese club "Benfica" may have the largest stadium in Europe. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The publication "The Sun" reports on this. According to the source, part of the "Benfica" management is emphasizing the construction of a new stadium.
According to the plan, the new arena will be designed for 120,000 spectators. Currently, the club's managers are exploring options to increase the number of seats in the current stadium.
For this purpose, they are consulting with the Populous architecture firm, which previously participated in the renovation of the "Tottenham" stadium. Currently, "Benfica's" home stadium is "Estadio da Luz," which can accommodate 68,000 spectators.
The largest football stadium in Europe is "Camp Nou," the playing field of the "Barcelona" team, which has a capacity of approximately 99,000 people. At the same time, "Benfica" aims to become the owner of the largest football arena in Europe through the construction of a new stadium.
The club's management and specialists are taking all necessary measures to implement the project. This will not only enhance the team's reputation but also create favorable conditions for football fans.
The construction of the new stadium is expected to positively impact the development of sports infrastructure in the region.
