The French club "Rennes" has acquired two players from "Marseille" during the season break to strengthen its squad. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Although Quentin Merlen's transfer did not leave a significant impression among fans, the situation with Valentin Ronjye was different. "Rennes" fans strongly opposed this transfer.
The reason for this is that Ronjye was previously the captain of "Nantes," which is considered a historical rival of "Rennes." He had firmly stated in the past that he would never transfer to "Rennes."
"Such a thought doesn't even cross my mind; this club is our enemy," Ronjye said recently. However, life has its humorous side, and a few years later, Ronjye showed that he was ready to sign a contract with "Rennes."
"He does not have such a right; we cannot allow this," announced one of the main fan groups of "Rennes," Roazhon Celtic Co. The new France Ligue 1 season will start on August 17.
This event has further intensified the relationship of "Rennes" fans with the club and may affect the football team's success in the new season.
