Herkus: Spartak needs to strengthen its defense

Ilja Gerkus, a specialist who previously served as president of the "Lokomotiv" team, commented on the efforts to strengthen the squad of the "Spartak" team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

He emphasized that the reason for "Spartak" trying to strengthen its attacking line is unclear to him. According to Gerkus, the team already has enough forwards, so attention should be directed to other positions.

The specialist recommended focusing more on central midfielders and wing defenders. He specifically mentioned that he is unsure who the right wing defender is and questioned how the team can claim the championship without a right wing defender.

According to Gerkus, it is currently difficult to identify the main central defender pair in "Spartak." He also announced that the team’s next match will take place on July 26 at home against "Baltika."
