The match took place on July 27 at the VEB Arena stadium in Moscow. In the first round, both teams failed to show their best.
CSKA played a draw in Orenburg, while Akhmat lost to Rubin Kazan at home. There had been ongoing discussions about Lechi Sadulaev's transfer between CSKA and Akhmat, but in this match, Sadulaev started in the lineup, indicating a reduced likelihood of the transfer.
He was substituted after the first half. At the beginning of the match, Akhmat launched a quick attack, but Konate's shot was not accurate towards the goal.
However, CSKA's defense showed weakness, and Akhmat took the lead in the 15th minute with a goal from Mansi Braian. CSKA managed to equalize in the final minutes of the match through Oblyakov and Krugovoy's chances, and then Krugovoy scored another goal, bringing the score to 2:1.
In the second half, CSKA controlled the game and did not give Akhmat any opportunities. Darko Todorovich received a second yellow card and left the field at the end of the match.
In the end, CSKA achieved victory with strong determination.
