Former Sankt-Petersburg "Zenit" midfielder Aleksey Igonin expressed his opinion on the necessity of continuing the work of the team's head coach Sergey Semak. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, this issue will be clearer at the end of the championship. Currently, changes are observed in the team at the beginning of the season, and these changes indicate a positive direction.
Ingonin believes this is a sign that the team is on the right track. Sergey Semak has been managing the "Zenit" team since 2018 and also worked as a regular coach from 2013 to 2016.
Under his leadership, the team has won 13 different trophies. Semak has also been named the best coach of the Russian Premier League season five times.
Last season, "Zenit" finished second in the championship, just one point behind the "Krasnodar" team. This result serves as an important lesson for the team and will be a foundation for achieving even better results in the future.
