Igor Kolivanov, the former coach of the Russian youth national team, evaluated the performance of Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Maksim Glushenkov. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In the last match, the Zenit player left the field after the first half. According to Kolivanov, head coach Sergey Semak made the right decision to take Glushenkov off the field.
He believes that every player in the Zenit team must prove their commitment to improvement, not just in words but in practice. Kolivanov emphasized that Glushenkov has reduced his own demands.
According to him, another player, Mstislav Mostovoy, has come on the field and is fully demonstrating himself, showing a desire to play. However, Glushenkov seems to accept playing as an obligation, which is incorrect, says Kolivanov.
For reference, last season Glushenkov played in 26 matches for the club, scoring 11 goals and providing 5 assists. Despite these results, he is being criticized for lacking consistency in his performance.
In Kolivanov's opinion, every player in a team like Zenit must perform at a high level.
