Oleg Romantsev, the former head coach of the Russian national team and Moscow's Spartak club, expressed his opinion on the fact that Serbian specialist Milorad Majich is leading the referees' department of the Russian Football Union. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to Romantsev, dissatisfaction with refereeing is increasing every year, but no changes are noticeable. He also emphasized that he does not understand why, despite having our own specialists, the refereeing work is entrusted to a foreign expert.
In his opinion, this situation appears to be a sign of distrust towards our specialists. It should be noted that Milorad Majich has been active in Russia since 2023.
He recently extended his employment contract for another season. At the beginning of the current season, there were several complaints related to refereeing in the Russian championship matches.
In particular, representatives of the Spartak club expressed dissatisfaction with the refereeing in their games twice. For this reason, the issue of referees' activities and their management remains one of the pressing topics among the football community.
