36-year-old Muhammad Abu al-Naga, known to many by the nickname "Bonga," has passed away. He was the goalkeeper for the Egypt national team and the "Wadi Degla" football club.
His death was caused by a serious illness. This event occurred on August 2, after he fought for his life in the intensive care unit.
"Bonga" was the captain of his team and helped return his club to the Egyptian Premier League after a four-year hiatus. Previously, he also played for the "Petrojet" and "Al-Merreyx" clubs.
The Egypt football team's press service stated in their announcement: "Today is a sorrowful day for us, our hearts are filled with grief. 'Bonga' is no longer with us."
