Former football referee Igor Fedotov expressed his opinion on the performance of the main referee Pavel Kukuyan during the match between Akron of Tolyatti and Spartak of Moscow held in the third round of the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In this match, the referee awarded two penalties and showed two yellow cards to Spartak defender Daniil Khlusevich, sending him off the field. According to Fedotov, a complex situation arose in the 50th minute of the match, in which referee Kukuyan made a wrong decision.
Spartak goalkeeper Maksimenko collided with an opposing player rather than the ball. Although Kukuyan misjudged this situation, the video assistant referee Sergey Ivanov corrected it, and a penalty was awarded to the Akron team.
However, the Akron players were unable to take advantage of this opportunity. Fedotov also emphasized that he considered Kukuyan's decisions regarding the second penalty awarded to Spartak, Khlusevich's sending off, and the goal scored by Spartak to be correct.
This match, held in the city of Samara, ended in a 1:1 draw.
