Since 2011, a civil war has been ongoing in Libya. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
This war is not open, but it is still actively ongoing. The country has been divided into several regions.
The complex geographical location of Libya is also contributing to this situation. Currently, the main factor uniting Libyans is football.
Interestingly, the championship is still being held in Libya. In some cases, due to the situation in the country, championship matches are being held in other countries.
Recently, in Milan, Italy, two Libyan teams – “Al-Ittihad” from Tripoli and “As-Svehli” from Misurata – competed in the playoff stage of the Libyan championship. Approximately eighty fans came from Libya to watch this match.
They were the only spectators present in the stadium. The match was fiercely contested and ended with a score of 3:2.
Thus, while the situation in Libya remains complex, football plays an important role in uniting the people of the country.
