In the second qualifying round of the Champions League, Kyiv's Dynamo team faced Paphos, one of the strongest clubs in Cyprus. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
At the end of the first half, the Cypriot players made a mistake in the center, and the Dynamo players launched a quick counterattack. Vladislav Dubinchak made a move and shot from about ten meters on the left side of the penalty area, but the ball hit the post.
Additionally, Vladislav Vanat earned a penalty for his team on the left wing. The ball delivered from the set piece reached Vanat, but his header went over the goal.
In the second half, Andrey Yarmolenko passed to Vanat from the right wing. Vanat fell while battling with a defender, and the referee awarded a penalty.
However, the decision was changed with the help of the VAR system, and the penalty was canceled. In the 84th minute of the match, the Ukrainian players took a corner kick from the right wing and launched an attack.
At that moment, the Paphos team transitioned to a quick counterattack. Anderson Silva entered the penalty area from a close position, deceived Dubinchak, and sent a precise shot into the far corner, opening the scoring.
As a result, the match ended 0:1 in favor of Paphos. Now everything will be decided in the return match.
In this game, Dynamo's lineup included Ruslan Neshcheret, Aleksandr Tymchik, Denis Popov, Taras Mikhavko, Vladislav Dubinchak, Nikolay Mikhaylenko, Vladimir Brazhko, Nikolay Shaparenko, Andrey Yarmolenko, Vladislav Vanat, and Aleksandr Pikhalyonok. Anderson Silva scored the winning goal for Paphos.
