The former head coach of the "Lokomotiv" football club, Vladimir Eshterekov, shared his thoughts on the start of the season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the team's results in the new season have exceeded expectations. Eshterekov emphasized the importance of relying on facts: "Lokomotiv" achieved three victories in the first three matches and is currently in first place in the league table.
This result should be taken as a basis, the specialist said. When asked what contributed to the team's good performance, Eshterekov mentioned that it is difficult to give a precise answer.
In his opinion, the players conducted their pre-season preparation correctly. As a result, the team is performing well tactically, physically, and technically.
However, there are still shortcomings; the championship has just started, and the team has the opportunity for further growth. When asked who stood out in the first three matches, he emphasized that it was the team's overall efforts that yielded results, not individual players, and that the collective play was crucial.
Eshterekov also commented on 20-year-old Vadim Rakov, who plays for "Krylya Sovetov" and scored four goals in three matches. According to him, Rakov was loaned out because he needed playing time, and this was the right decision.
Now he is showing himself and gaining experience. In the future, if needed by the team, he could return to "Lokomotiv."
In the next match, "Lokomotiv" will face "Spartak." Eshterekov stated that "Spartak" has had an unsuccessful start to the season, but the result will only be determined by the game.
Whoever is better prepared tactically and physically will win. In his opinion, "Lokomotiv" is currently on the right track and must continue to move at this pace.
It is difficult to name a favorite before the match; the result will only be known in the final minutes. "Lokomotiv" has every opportunity to strengthen its first place.
The match is expected to be intense and uncompromising, and the result will be determined by the players' mental and physical preparation.
