The partnership between Argentine footballer Erik Lamela and Greece's AEK club did not last long. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Although they signed a three-year contract last summer, Lamela played only one season at the club. The press service of the Athens club announced that the contract with the player has been terminated.
During the last season, Lamela managed to score a total of six goals for the team. However, the club's new head coach Marko Nikolich decided to make changes to the squad.
He preferred to forgo Lamela's services and give opportunities to younger players. For this reason, the contract with Lamela was terminated.
Now the future of the 33-year-old player remains uncertain. He may either return to his homeland, Argentina, or continue his playing career in Italy again.
It is known that Lamela previously played in the Italian championship for the team of Roma in Rome. It is currently unknown which club will make an offer to him.
At the same time, Lamela has the opportunity to play for other teams with his rich experience and skills.
